It's 1965 and a young concert violinist, Laura, travels from Paris to Israel to be with Sacha, a philosophy professor who had previously joined an Israeli kibbutz in an attempt to touch base with his jewish ancestry and to escape the pain of his lover's suicide. Two years later three more Parisians arrive to celebrate Laura's 20th birthday. Tension in the Golan Heights is rising as Israel moves towards the Six Day war. This is a truly delightful film, one of Sophie Marceau's best performances. Miss this film at your peril ! |
